The Green Building Grant Program was established by the Real Estate Foundation and Vancity Credit Union to minimize the impacts of climate change and improve sustainable land use practices by supporting green building initiatives in British Columbia. The overall goal of the funding program is to reduce CO₂ emissions resulting from settlement activity. The program was launched in 2004.

Each year, the Program will provide one or more grants (up to $50,000 each) to qualified recipients, totaling at least $100,000. All not-for-profit organizations, including charitable organizations and cooperatives, are eligible to apply. See the grant application form for more information. [2012 application form] 

You will find all information required to apply for a Green Building Grant on the application form. Please note that Green Building Grants do not follow the same procedure as regular Real Estate Foundation grants. There is one intake, in January 2012, per the form. This year's deadline: January 23rd at 11:59 p.m.
