2016 Land Awards Gala
Celebrating BC's land sustainability heroes
The Land Awards Gala is held every two years to celebrate achievements and leadership in sustainable land use. Each year, more than 250 guests join us to learn about the work that’s being done in communities across BC and to help us cheer on the winners and finalists of REFBC’s Land Awards.
The sixth Land Awards Gala will be held on October 21, 2016 at the Rocky Mountaineer Station in Vancouver. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception and a sustainable three-course dinner with wine. In addition to the awards presentation, the event will also include a silent auction, entertainment, and an after party.
The gala will be emceed by Steve Patterson. As host of CBC Radio One’s wildly successful “The Debaters,” Patterson has become a household name, with more than 700,000 weekly listeners. Every comic can tell a joke, but Steve Patterson is a triple threat of funny, combining skills as a stand-up comedian with over 15 years of touring experience, a successful radio and TV host and a published humour writer.
Tickets are available on EventBrite at a cost of $175 each, plus taxes and fees. Each ticket includes entry to a cocktail reception, a three-course dinner with wine, and admission to the Land Awards after party.
There is a 10% discount on the regular price for groups purchasing tables of 8 tickets. For non-profit and student ticket pricing, please email Stephanie Butler for a discount code.
The Land Awards Gala will feature a sustainable menu with a plant-based dinner and a mix of vegetarian, fish and meat canapes at the cocktail reception and after party. If you would prefer a meat option at dinner, please indicate this on your ticket order.
The Gala is being catered by the Four Seasons Hotel and, whenever possible, meal ingredients have been sourced from local farmers and food producers.
