Nine outstanding projects will be honoured at the 2010 Land Awards Gala on November 18th at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Vancouver.

Forty-eight nominations were submitted for the inaugural Land Awards, which will recognize initiatives demonstrating leadership, innovation and collaboration related to the sustainable use and conservation of land in BC.

"We are very happy with the response from all sectors: public, private, and non-profit," said Karin Kirkpatrick, Foundation CEO. "For the first year of the awards program, we think this is great response from the community."

The 48 nominations will be short-listed and award winners selected by an external committee in October.

Foundation staff and governors look forward to celebrating with the nominees, gala sponsors, guest speaker Mr. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and many others who are interested in the excellent work being done by BC organizations to advance sustainability in the province.
